sampler.fm

Terms of service

The deal, in plain words

sampler.fm is free to use. Pro costs $8 a month and can be cancelled at any time. What you make is yours, and you are responsible for what you upload. The rest of this page is the detail. Effective 6 October 2026.

Who we are

sampler.fm is a sampler and beat maker that runs in your browser, at sampler.fm. “We” and “us” in these terms means the people who run it. You can reach us at support@sampler.fm or through the contact page.

By using sampler.fm you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use it.

Using sampler.fm

You can play the sampler without an account. Saving kits, publishing them and buying Pro need one. You must be at least 13 years old to make an account. Keep your password to yourself: what happens on your account is your responsibility, and one account is for one person.

The free plan has limits, listed on the pricing page. We may change what the free plan and Pro include as the instrument grows; we will not take away something you have paid for in the middle of a period you have paid for.

Pro

Pro costs $8 a month, plus any tax that applies where you are, which is shown before you pay. It is billed monthly in advance and renews each month until you cancel. Payment is handled by Stripe, which is the seller of record for Pro: you enter your card on Stripe’s page, it never reaches us, and your receipt and card statement will show Stripe or Link rather than sampler.fm.

Cancel any time from “Manage Pro” in the menu, or “Manage subscription” on the pricing page. Pro stays on until the end of the month you have paid for, and then stops; nothing further is charged. We do not refund the remainder of a month you have started, unless the law where you live says otherwise or Stripe’s own policies grant one. If something has gone wrong, write to us and we will sort it out.

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it and emails you. While it retries, Pro stays on. If it keeps failing, Pro ends. Your saved kits remain yours and stay loadable; the free plan’s limits apply to new saves from then on.

If we change the price of Pro, we will email the address on your account at least 30 days before the new price applies to a renewal. You can cancel before then and pay nothing more.

What you make

Everything you record, upload or build on sampler.fm is yours. You give us permission to store it, process it and, for kits you publish, show and stream it, only as far as running the service needs. We claim no other rights in it.

You are responsible for having the rights to any audio you upload or sample. A recording of your own, a sound you made, or audio its owner has let you use are fine; someone else’s track is not, unless they have said so. If we receive a credible complaint that something on sampler.fm infringes a copyright, we may remove it, and we will tell the account that published it. Complaints go to support@sampler.fm with the kit’s link and what it is claimed to infringe.

A kit you publish is public: anyone with the link, or anyone who visits your profile, can play it and copy it into their own sampler. You can unpublish it at any time, which stops it being shown from then on, but copies people have already saved stay with them.

What you may not do

Break the law, or use sampler.fm to help someone else break it. Upload anything that infringes someone’s rights, harasses anyone, or sexualises minors. Get around the free plan’s limits or the payment for Pro by technical means. Overload the service, scrape it, or resell access to it. We may suspend or close an account that does any of these.

The service itself

sampler.fm is provided as it is. We work to keep it up and working well, and we do not promise that it always will be, that it will suit a particular purpose, or that it is free of mistakes. Features change as the instrument develops; something you rely on today may work differently later.

Keep your own copies of work that matters to you. Save it to a kit, and on Pro export it to WAV. If we ever have to shut sampler.fm down, we will give as much notice as we can and refund any Pro time you have paid for beyond that date.

Ending things

You can stop using sampler.fm whenever you like. To delete your account and everything saved on it, email us from the address on the account; we delete it within 30 days. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and when we do that for a breach, Pro time already paid is not refunded.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data, and our total liability to you for anything connected with sampler.fm is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $20 if you paid nothing. Nothing here limits any liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or any right you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Small changes will simply appear here with a new date at the top. For a change that matters to you, we will email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. Using sampler.fm after a change means you accept it; if you do not, stop using it and, on Pro, cancel before the change takes effect.
